new boston co-operative

As was mentioned at this month's split meeting, a new mushroom subscription service is available here in Lawrence and is being headed by NewBoston member Bob Bruce.

Beginning Spring 2008, Wakarusa Vallay Farm mushrooms will be paired with choice wild mushrooms from the Pacific Northwest and distributed at The Casbah Market in downtown Lawrence.  Once a week subscribers will enjoy a mixed bag of diverse mushroom species including Shiitake, Oyster, Black Poplar, Pom-Pom, Chanterelle, Lobster, Morel, Porcini, Matsutake, Hedgehog, Wine Cap, and Maitake all provided on a seasonal basis. $18/bag weekly or bi-weekly.  For information or to sign up contact: Bob, bobruce@gmail.com

As your eyes had surely just adjusted to that blinding magenta, we welcome you to the new and ever so slightly redesigned New Boston Coop site.  The news will now be posted to this blog page, not because blogs are so cutting edge, as demonstrated by the fact that many grandparents now sit at home and blog all day (after writing this and not actually knowing if this is really true, a quick google search produced thousands of grand parent blogs in addition to a study finding 5% of grandparents blog while over 20% read blogs, among them StayAtHomeGrandpa.com, which you will now inevitably visit and this mystery grandpa will be so confused tomorrow when he's had thirty some different kansans visit his page in a single day.)

Regardless, one-upping the elderly is not our aim; however, the ability to archive posts, offer everyone the opportunity to post comments or questions, and simply an easier way of keeping the site updated made the blog an inevitability. So here we are. Feedback welcomed.
